Job descriptionReview prepared tax returns for individuals, businesses, partnerships, or trusts, checking for errors or discrepancies, and ensuring that all necessary documentation is included. Provide guidance to tax preparers on tax matters and act as a technical resource for complex tax questions. Frequently interface with client personnel to review and apply accounting and tax principles Contact clients by phone or email to gather necessary information. Review files to ensure that they possess the necessary signatures, contain the necessary supporting documentation, and comply with filing due dates Obtain proper filing extensions when necessary Perform detailed review on tax returns, research, and compliance work with an emphasis on calculations, accounting theory, and tax law compliance, depending on experience. Perform all work in compliance with the firm's policies and procedures Maintain technical tax skills through on the job training and participation in internal tax training sessions Conduct complex tax research and continue to abreast of current tax laws and regulations. Assist clients with tax planning and business strategy. Provide training and supervision to junior family members. 7 years of relevant experience required. Bachelor's degree is required. Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field is preference. CPA is required (JD or Enrolled Agent is acceptable in lieu).
