This health tech company is seeking a skilled photo retoucher for on-going long-term freelance work. You will be joining a well-oiled design team with great energy and focus whose job it is to make doctors, researchers and clinicians look like the rockstars they are.
The Nitty Gritty
You’re a gifted Photo Retoucher who specializes in portraiture. While our client is NOT Vanity Fair, the photos they edit are of that quality. And editing humans — not the actual humans, the photos of the humans — is your jam.
You know the ins and outs in the Art of Photoshop, InDesign and other design/editing software.
Experience working at a design-forward magazine, media company or ad agency, within the photo department or a similarly deadline-driven organization is a big plus, though consideration would also be given to an up and comer who is well-versed in the tools and eager to dive in as well.

You make ordinary people look extra-ordinary.
You need to be not only a professional retoucher but also a professional freelancer. You are organized and know how to live within key deadlines. You very much want to join a team. This is not for the lone-gun retoucher who wants to be left alone. This group likes to work together whether they are on-site or off. The client is open to considerable remote work, but you do need to be available for key meetings in NYC throughout the year — including team bonding (they treat their freelancers as “work family”).
Inside Skinny
If you are looking for an ‘Anchor’ client to round out your portfolio of works, this position is perfect because if you land it 50% of your time will be utilized! You can expect to work an average of 20 hours a week.
