Job description

A healthcare facility near Royal City, WA, is seeking a Board-Certified Gastroenterologist to fill a locum tenens position. This role offers an excellent opportunity to practice in a dynamic outpatient setting with flexible scheduling.

Position Details :

  • Start Date : ASAP
  • End Date : Ongoing
  • Shift Type : Scheduled Clinical Hours Only
  • Practice Setting : Outpatient only (Inpatient not required)
  • Patients per Shift : 14-16 patients daily
  • Support Staff : Includes 5 Medical Assistants and 1 PA / NP
  • EMR System : EPIC

Required Skills :

  • Procedures :

    • Upper GI endoscopy (with biopsy, foreign body removal, fulguration of bleeder, varices injection)

  • ERCP (diagnostic and therapeutic)
  • Colonoscopy (with biopsy and excision of polyps)
  • Sigmoidoscopy (flexible and rigid)
  • Esophageal dilatation / manometry
  • Small bowel biopsy
  • Liver biopsy
  • Insertion / management of Sengstaken-Blakemore tube

    • Key Responsibilities :

  • Manage and treat a variety of liver and gastrointestinal cases, including more complex patients.
  • Conduct in-clinic procedures such as Pill Cam interpretation, PEG tube exchange, Hemoccult tests, and Lidocaine injections.
  • Engage in routine clinic responsibilities like pathology reviews, new patient referrals, and addressing PA questions (direct supervision not required).

    • Certifications & Licensing :

  • Required Certifications : Board Certified in Gastroenterology, ACLS, BLS
  • License : Must be licensed in Washington State or have an active Interstate Medical Licensure Compact (IMLC) license.
