American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Cardiovascular ICU position working night shifts with a focus on critical cardiac care and regional floating requirements.
\n \n Responsibilities\n
Work in a Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU) within a hospital settingUnit has 14 private rooms including two negative pressure roomsCare for patients with STEMI, cardiogenic shock, cardiac arrest, and post-cardiothoracic surgery including CABG and valve proceduresRN to patient ratio is 1 : 212-hour night shifts, with weekend rotation every other weekNo on-call requirementsTravelers are expected to work 75% of holidaysFloating required within Region 1 facilities as needed and within scope of practiceEMR used is Epic; Alaris IV pumps, Omnicell for medication dispensing, and Phillips monitors in use2-day departmental orientation plus facility NEOPrimary responsibilities include providing specialized critical care to cardiac and post-surgical patientsUnit is supported by charge nurses, IV / Vascular Access Team, respiratory therapists, and intensivists on a 24 / 7 basisFacility is a Level III Trauma Center and has Chest Pain and Stroke Center of Excellence designationsFirst-time travelers may be considered but are not preferredScheduling operates on a 6-week cycleRTO up to 6 days is allowed (not including holidays); alternative arrangements must be made if contracted hours are not metStaff must adhere to dress code and scrub requirements specific to the unit\n \n Requirements\n
Active NC or Compact RN license requiredCurrent BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications are requiredMinimum 2 years of critical care experience requiredExperience with management of vasoactive medications, surgical drains, chest tubes, ventilators, and CRRT requiredSkills with invasive lines, arterial lines, PA catheters, and transvenous pacemakers requiredExperience with devices such as IABP and Impella strongly preferredAbility to float within regional facilities and perform duties within scope of practice\n Benefits\n
