Job Description

This job is responsible for investigating moderate represented litigation claims which typically will include : uninsured or underinsured motorist (UM / UIM) claims in single or multi-car accidents, and represented moderate or major claims. The individual may also handle complex and occasionally highly complex CPL claims or specialized claims (e.g., business interruption, loss of income, E&O policies, etc.). The individual takes recorded statements, resolves loss of use claims, makes payments to appropriate parties, and negotiates and settles or refers bodily injury issues that cannot be resolved.

Candidates in the Mountain and Pacific time zones preferred. Candidates in the Central time zone will be considered.

Key Responsibilities

  • Sets initial reserve, updates reserve, documents rationale and claim summary notes
  • Negotiates and settles claims in accordance with business unit best practices
  • Documents a claim file with notes, evaluations and decision making process
  • Determines and explains minimum coverage limits in moderate and occasionally complex claims involving single or multiple claimants, also determines claim value
  • Draft and respond to attorney correspondence, requests for information, and demands to maintain compliance and mitigate legal exposure
  • Researches, responds to, or participates in Department of Insurance complaints or investigations
  • Coordinate the appraisal process for highly complex, disputed property claims, ensuring adherence to policy provisions
  • Reviews medical reports in preparation for claims settlement evaluation
  • Act as the primary point of contact for policyholder attorneys, leading direct negotiations to resolve disputes efficiently
  • Manages, researches, and resolves moderate and occasionally complex customer communications, concerns, conflicts or issues

Experience

  • 3 or more years of Casualty Represented or Litigation adjuster experience required
  • Experience with Moderate Represented or Litigation Bodily Injury claims in the states of Nevada and / or Washington (Preferred)
  • Supervisory Responsibilities

    This job does not have supervisory duties.

    Compensation offered for this role is $57,500.00 - 100,212.50 annually and is based on experience and qualifications.
