Forklift / PIT Operator
Location : Sparks
Schedule : Mon-Fri 7am - 3 : 30 may be required to come in early or work late
Pay : $21.50
Material Handling :
Operate forklifts, reach trucks and other industrial vehicles to move goods to and from storage areas, loading docks, and production lines.
Loading and Unloading :
Safely load and unload materials from trucks, trailers, and other transport vehicles.
Stacking and Storage :
Stack, store, and locate items in designated areas, ensuring that product rotation and placement are done correctly.
Inventory Management :
Perform quality control checks on incoming and outgoing materials, verify quantities, and maintain accurate records of inventory movement and storage.
Equipment Maintenance :
Conduct daily pre-shift inspections of the forklift, perform minor maintenance, and report any equipment defects or malfunctions.
Safety and Compliance
Safety Procedures :
Adhere to all health, safety, and company procedures and regulations to prevent accidents and injuries.
Load Security :
Ensure that all loads are centered, properly stacked, and securely fastened before being transported.
Additional Duties
Warehouse Organization : Maintain a clean and organized work area.
Technology Use : Utilize radio frequency (RF) scanners or other equipment to track inventory and complete paperwork.
Communication : Communicate with supervisors and other team members to ensure efficient workflow and an organized environment. SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED :
Forklift, and reach truck certified
Must possess good communication skills as well as basic math and reading skills and good with numbers. Must be able to interact with all bakery personnel.
Must be organized and detail oriented.
Should be familiar with basic OSHA safety practices
Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds, manipulate (pushing, pulling) up to 100 pounds, work at high elevations, in confined areas, in extreme heat and cold and in outside conditions on a regular basis.
Must possess the ability to learn how to operate a variety of material handling equipment.
Must be able to work independently and as part of a team.

WORKING CONDITIONS :
Must be able to work in a cold environment intermittently.
Perform duties near mechanical hazards and moving objects and in cold storage units.
Must be available to work any shift as scheduled.
Available to work weekends as scheduled.
Required overtime as needed.

Ability to work in cold environments as required. REQUIRED EXPERIENCE :
One to three years previous sanitation / janitorial experience suggested.
6 months experience in a food manufacturing facility preferred.
