Job Description :

Our client is looking for a proactive and experienced Health & Safety Manager to lead their safety initiatives and ensure a safe, compliant, and healthy work environment. This role is critical to maintaining our commitment to employee well-being and regulatory excellence. You'll oversee all aspects of safety from OSHA compliance and training to incident investigation and budget management.

The plant is currently at 200+ employees operating 24 hours a day, 7 days a week manufacturing a variety of fiberglass building insulation products on a single HERM line and continues to serve as a distribution hub for operations along the East Coast.

Your Day to Day :

  • Lead Safety Programs : Develop, implement, and continuously improve regulatory and company safety programs (OSHA, NFPA, ANSI).
  • Policy Management : Create, review, and enforce plant safety policies and procedures.
  • Training Oversight : Assign, track, and report on all regulatory and safety training across the facility.
  • Workers Compensation : Manage cases including doctor visits, light duty assignments, reporting, and financial forecasting.
  • Hazard Identification : Train employees, conduct audits, develop corrective actions, and monitor progress.
  • Budget Control : Oversee the health & safety budget including PPE, supplies, and first aid resources.
  • Reporting : Prepare and present weekly / monthly safety performance reports.
  • Incident Response : Serve as Medical First Responder and lead incident investigations, root cause analysis, and case management.
  • Change Management : Conduct safety reviews for Management of Change (MOC) processes.
  • Other Duties : Perform additional responsibilities as assigned to support safety and compliance.

What You Bring to the Team :

  • Bachelor's degree and 5+ years of safety leadership experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong knowledge of OSHA, ANSI, NFPA standards, and Workers Compensation laws.
  • Proven experience in hazard recognition, incident investigation, and case management.
  • Certified in First Aid, AED, and CPR.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with plant leadership.
  • Willingness to travel occasionally (up to 10 days / year).
  • Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in varied plant conditions (heat, cold, noise, heights, etc.).
