About The Position

Job Title : Utilization Nurse

Experience :

BSN Degree

2 years working as an RN

1 year minimum working in behavioral health

License :

• Active RN license within the state
Certifications :
• FPCC

Must-Have :

• Experience in monitoring and technical assistance
• Knowledge of compliance with contractual, regulatory, and statutory obligations
• Ability to monitor over and underutilization
• Skills in conducting reviews, providing oversight, and gathering, planning, organizing, and evaluating information
• Coordination of care with external and internal stakeholders

Description :

This position will provide monitoring and technical assistance to ensure compliance with contractual, regulatory, and statutory obligations for the FFS / SMI members' physical / acute care services and behavioral health needs.

The Utilization Nurse will monitor over and underutilization and conduct reviews.

This role includes providing oversight and technical assistance and gathering, planning, organizing, and evaluating information from multiple sources.

This information includes utilization data, case file reviews, and audits.

The nurse will coordinate care with external and internal stakeholders as needed.

Referral-making as necessary is also part of this role.

Participation in clinical staffing as needed is expected.

The nurse will serve as a resource for medically necessary covered services.
