Position Overview
LeoTerra Development is seeking a skilled Tack Truck Operator with a valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) to join our asphalt paving crew. The Tack Truck Operator is responsible for safely operating the tack truck to apply asphalt binder and assist with paving operations, ensuring proper adhesion of asphalt layers. This role is essential to maintaining quality and efficiency on all paving projects, including streets, driveways, and subdivision roads.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate a tack truck to apply asphalt binder uniformly across paving surfaces according to project specifications.
- Transport and deliver asphalt binder to paving crews as needed.
- Maintain proper equipment operation, including spray bars, pumps, and heating systems.
- Conduct pre- and post-operation inspections and perform basic maintenance on the tack truck.
- Communicate effectively with paving crews to coordinate timing, coverage, and safety.
- Follow all safety regulations and company policies while operating the truck and working on the job site.
- Assist paving crew with related tasks as needed to maintain project efficiency and quality.
Qualifications
Valid CDL (Class A or B, depending on state requirements).Prior experience operating a tack truck or similar asphalt equipment preferred.Knowledge of asphalt binder application and paving processes is a plus.Ability to read and follow job plans and foreman instructions.Strong commitment to safety and teamwork.Must have reliable transportation and be able to report to job sites on time.Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions and perform physically demanding tasks.Physical Requirements
Must be able to stand, walk, and work on feet for extended periods.Ability to climb in and out of trucks, reach, bend, and lift up to 50 pounds.Comfortable working in outdoor environments including heat, cold, dust, and noise.Manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination sufficient to operate spray systems and truck controls safely.Benefits
