The Congressional Budget Office (CBO) is a small, nonpartisan legislative agency providing economic and budgetary analysis to Congress. The Publications and Digital Media Division is seeking a skilled Full-Stack Drupal Web Developer to support CBO’s public-facing website and related digital platforms.
Responsibilities : Drupal Development & Digital Infrastructure
The Web Developer will manage the development, configuration, maintenance, and continuous improvement of CBO’s Drupal-based website and digital infrastructure. Key tasks include :
Qualifications : Required Experience & Technical Skills
Applicants must possess a bachelor’s degree and at least five years of professional experience specifically in Drupal web development within LAMP stack environments (Linux, Apache, MySQL / MariaDB, PHP). Alternatively, an associate’s degree with at least seven years of hands‑on Drupal development experience may be substituted.
Required experience must include deploying and maintaining Drupal sites on managed or cloud-based hosting platforms (e.g., Upsun / Platform.sh, Pantheon, Acquia, or equivalent), working with modern Drupal versions, Composer-based workflows , and a contributed module ecosystem.
Candidates should demonstrate proficiency in the following areas :
Preferred Qualifications
Successful candidates will also have experience developing and maintaining Drupal websites within structured web project management processes (planning, execution, review, delivery) and possess strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to develop thorough technical documentation and deliver effective presentations.
