Schedule / Hours : Full-time evening shifts with 8 or 10-hour rotations, Monday to Friday, including overnight and weekend on-call duties.
Major Responsibilities :
Prepare surgical materials and equipment, ensuring a clean, safe environment conducive to optimal patient care.Utilize aseptic techniques in surgical preparation and assistance.Set up operating rooms, operate equipment, and maintain supply inventory.Function as a Second Assistant during procedures when necessary.Notify staff of equipment or supply issues.Transport patients or supplies as required.Ensure specialty carts are well-stocked and in working order.Demonstrate knowledge of patient needs across various age groups.Licensure, Registration, and / or Certification Required :
Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) within 6 months of hire.Education Required :
Completion of an accredited Surgical Technology program.Experience Required :
No prior experience is necessary.Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required :
Understanding aseptic techniques and surgical procedures.Familiarity with operating room equipment.Strong customer service and interpersonal skills.Basic computer proficiency.Physical Requirements and Working Conditions :
Able to thrive in a fast-paced surgical environment.Must be able to lift, carry, and move equipment and patients safely.Exposure to various physical demands, including mechanical and biological hazards.Required to maintain proper safety and hygiene protocols; including wearing protective gear.This job description outlines the essential tasks and responsibilities required but is not exhaustive.
