Chief Financial Officer / Business Manager - Incarnate Word High School role at Archdiocese of San Antonio Careers.
The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) / Business Manager is responsible for ensuring the financial health, a dynamic workforce, and operational efficiency of Incarnate Word High School. This position oversees all financial operations, manages the physical plant, serves as the liaison for human capital management with our third-party administrator (ADP), and supports the school's mission while upholding its Catholic values.

Key Responsibilities
- Financial Management : Develop and implement financial strategies to ensure the school’s financial sustainability.
- Financial Reporting & Operations : Prepare and manage the annual budget, financial forecasts, and financial reporting; oversee accounting functions including accounts payable / receivable, payroll, and financial audits; work with leadership to prioritize resource allocation and maintain fiscal accountability; ensure compliance with applicable government regulations, accounting standards, and internal policies.
- Investment and Financial Planning : Provide financial analysis and support for long-term strategic planning; monitor and manage cash flow, investments, and financial reserves; collaborate with the Board of Directors on financial issues and strategies.
- Physical Plant Management : Oversee maintenance and operation of facilities including safety, security, and environmental compliance; develop and implement preventive maintenance; manage construction, renovation, and improvement projects within budget and timeline; optimize facility utilization for programs and events.
- Human Resources Management : Maintain relationship with third-party administrator for HR (ADP); ensure compliance with workplace policies and procedures.
- Team Leadership and Communication : Supervise business office staff and facilities management personnel; foster a collaborative environment and support professional development; act as liaison between faculty / staff and ADP regarding payroll, benefits, leave, and employment concerns; liaise with external vendors on financial and facility matters.
- Mission Alignment : Promote Catholic identity and mission through financial and operational decisions; engage with parents, staff, and community to enhance school culture and involvement.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, or related field; MBA or CPA preferred.Minimum of 5 years of experience in financial management, preferably within an educational or non-profit setting.Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial management practices.Strong knowledge of human resources management.Proven experience in facilities management and project oversight.Excellent analytical and strategic thinking skills.Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively.Commitment to the Catholic mission of the school and understanding of Catholic education.Application Process
