I guess you’d probably like to know just what it is you’ll be building, but you’ll have to excuse us — we can’t say much more about it except that it’s a commerce platform for businesses, and that it’s highly innovative. There’s already an MVP product in place, but you’ll be joining a team that will get that minimal thing all built out. Plying Python and Django, you’ll be developing functionality that requires true systems thinking, applying an architectural mindset to the job rather than limiting your input to a single consideration at a time. Picture yourself reviewing technical and business requirements, documenting and testing code, writing in Python to create new Django views, coordinating version releases — it’s a startup, and that means you’ll likely be called on to do everything you know how to do. This outfit, as you’d guess, places a high premium on versatility.

An experienced engineer, you have a tendency to plunge headlong into your work — to say that it interests you is an understatement. Your famously strong opinions are grounded in rock-solid computer-science principles. You’re well-rounded and adaptable, not the kind of developer who prefers the comfort of a limited scope with others looking after the big picture. Ideally, you have experience up and down the stack, and of course you’re about as solid as they get when it comes to Python and Django.
You’re also committed to the startup environment, with all its attendant risks and rewards. The thought of building something brand new and contributing to significant changes in the business landscape thrills you to no end.
