Operator IV – Ozone Operator

Location : Cincinnati, Ohio

Job Purpose

The Operator IV – Ozone Operator is responsible for safely operating, monitoring, and adjusting ozone process equipment to support daily production. This role ensures the system runs within safe operating limits, meets product quality standards, and complies with all company policies and safety procedures.

Key Responsibilities

Operations

  • Start up and shut down ozone equipment in accordance with operating procedures, production schedules, and plant conditions
  • Monitor operating parameters and make process adjustments to maintain safe, efficient, and stable ozone production
  • Complete routine field rounds to inspect tanks, piping, valves, instrumentation, compressors, and ozone generation equipment
  • Identify abnormal conditions and take corrective action or escalate to supervision or maintenance as needed
  • Communicate operational status to incoming shifts and leadership

Safety

  • Follow all plant safety policies and procedures as outlined in the SH&E manual
  • Wear proper PPE at all times, including respiratory protection when required
  • Complete monthly safety training and participate in safety meetings
  • Support Job Safety Analysis (JSA) and hazard identification activities
  • Immediately report safety concerns, near misses, or equipment issues
  • Quality

  • Collect samples for testing and use quality results to make adjustments
  • Maintain knowledge of ISO 9001 policies and procedures related to ozone production
  • Participate in ISO audits when requested
  • Administrative / Housekeeping

  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe control room and work area
  • Complete production logs, shift documentation, and handoff summaries accurately
  • Follow established procedures for lockout / tagout, confined space, and work permits
  • Work Schedule

  • Must be willing to work 12-hour rotating shifts, including weekends and holidays as required
  • Qualifications

  • Prior experience in chemical manufacturing or ozone operation strongly preferred
  • Ability to read instrumentation, flow diagrams, production instructions, and safety documents
  • Basic computer skills for logging data and completing reports
  • Ability to climb, lift, wear PPE, and work in a plant environment
  • Strong commitment to safety, teamwork, and communication
