The Role :
We are hiring a Mechanical Foreman to oversee and support the mechanical installation of rooftop and ground-mounted solar photovoltaic (PV) systems. This is a working foreman role that involves leading job site activities, supervising mechanical crews, ensuring quality standards, and upholding safety compliance. The Mechanical Foreman plays a critical role in executing projects on time and according to design and specification.
Key Responsibilities :
- Lead and participate in installation of PV modules and racking systems
- Maintain high standards of safety, quality assurance, and production efficiency
- Coordinate with Project Managers and site leads to support job execution
- Train new team members on installation procedures and safety protocols
- Ensure all mechanical work complies with drawings, specifications, and local codes
- Supervise daily work plans and complete required documentation and reports
- Assist in site prep and verify readiness against contract scope and engineering plans
- Communicate effectively with clients, inspectors, and third-party contractors
- Work with the electrical team to support integrated system commissioning
- Address job site hazards and implement corrective action as needed
Requirements :
High school diploma or GEDMinimum of five (5) years of experience in construction with at least one (1) year in solar installationProven experience managing and training field crewsProficient with hand and power toolsValid driver’s licenseAbility to travel to multiple job sites and work outdoors in various weather conditionsAbility to lift 75 lbs and work on uneven or elevated surfacesOSHA 10 or OSHA 30 CertificationExperience with racking systems and PV module installationWorking knowledge of mechanical and structural installation codes and safety protocolsPerks & Benefits :
