The Impact You’ll Make

As a Product Safety Engineer at Lam, you'll be responsible for ensuring product safety for one of our most important product lines. You will work directly with the engineering community to ensure that safety requirements are identified and incorporated into the product designs. You must have the skills and experience to analyze systems, identify design weaknesses and hazards that might cause accidents, and make recommendations to resolve. You must be able to apply your knowledge of safety regulations, standards and practices to determine if these systems comply with the proper requirements.

What You’ll Do

• Utilizing your multi-disciplinary skills, you will take full safety responsibility, including systems analysis, hazards identification and assessment, and implementation of countermeasures to protect workers and the system against those hazards
• Apply industry and regulatory safety requirements such as SEMI S2 and CE Marking directives to obtain appropriate safety certifications for our products
• Resolve product safety issues
• Ensure customer confidence in the safety of our products through engagement with account teams and field service teams
• Review and develop safe maintenance procedures to ensure that the methods for servicing our products are as safe as possible

Who We’re Looking For

• Minimum 10 years experience applying industry safety standards for semiconductor capital equipment.
• Experience working with, and management of 3rd parties to achieve full compliance meeting Lam’s expectations
• Comfortable and experienced in analyzing systems for chemical, electrical, ergonomic, industrial hygiene, and maintenance hazards
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Minimum of Bachelors degree in Engineering or sciences or equivalent experience
• Enjoy a hands-on approach to testing and evaluating systems
• Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Applied knowledge of applicable international regulations such as CE Marking, NFPA, EMC as it relates to capital equipment
• Expert knowledge of SEMI S2, S8, S14, S22

Our hybrid roles combine the benefits of on-site collaboration with colleagues and the flexibility to work remotely and fall into two categories – On-site Flex and Virtual Flex. ‘On-site Flex’ you’ll work 3+ days per week on-site at a Lam or customer/supplier location, with the opportunity to work remotely for the balance of the week. ‘Virtual Flex’ you’ll work 1-2 days per week on-site at a Lam or customer/supplier location, and remotely the rest of the time.
