Position Description:
We are seeking a versatile Healthcare Data Scientist/Engineer to join our team supporting CGI PulseAI for HealthCare delivery. This role is critical in bridging the gap between raw healthcare data and actionable insights. You will be responsible for designing and maintaining robust data pipelines while developing predictive models and analytics that improve member health outcomes and operational efficiency.
Location: This role can be in any CGI office, however, Knoxville is the preferred location.
Your future duties and responsibilities:
Data Engineering: Design, build, and maintain scalable ETL/ELT pipelines to ingest healthcare data (Claims, EMR/EHR, Pharmacy, and Lab results).
Model Development: Develop and deploy machine learning models for risk stratification, disease prediction, and utilization management.
Healthcare Interoperability: Work with healthcare data standards, including FHIR, HL7, and ICD-10/CPT coding.
Data Quality: Ensure the integrity and security of Protected Health Information (PHI) in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
Collaboration: Work closely with clinical staff and business stakeholders to translate complex data into clear, visual stories and strategic recommendations.
Required qualifications to be successful in this role:
Education: Master's or bachelor's degree in computer science, Data Science, Statistics, or a related field.
Experience:
5+ years of experience in a data-centric role, specifically within the healthcare or health insurance industry.
Minimum 1 year of familiarity with payer/payor operations within healthcare strongly expected.
Technical Stack:
Languages: Proficiency in Python (Pandas, Scikit-learn, PySpark) and advanced SQL.
Cloud: Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and big data tools (Databricks, Snowflake).
Tools: Experience with orchestration tools (Airflow), Databricks , version control (Git).
Domain Knowledge: Deep understanding of healthcare revenue cycles or payer operations, or clinical informatics.
Preferred Skills
Experience with Natural Language Processing (NLP) for unstructured clinical notes.
Familiarity with Visualization tools like Tableau or PowerBI.
Knowledge of Medical Claims lifecycle and Quality Measures (HEDIS/STARS).
