Director of Data and Analytics

We're looking for a hands-on Director of Data and Analytics to own and evolve the systems and data architecture at ROKA. We're consolidating key technology functions in-house and need someone who can bridge strategy with execution - keeping the business running smoothly today while designing and building for tomorrow.
This is a player-coach role : you'll manage external technology partners, collaborate with department leaders across ROKA, and be directly involved in system optimization, integrations, and data enablement.
Responsibilities
Systems Ownership & Integration :
- Own and maintain the company's technology ecosystem, including NetSuite (ERP), Shopify (ecommerce), our WMS, and all system integrations
- Oversee system performance, data integrity, and uptime, ensuring seamless flow of information across business functions
- Manage and coordinate external partners for system development, customization, and support
Data Architecture, Analytics & Reporting :
Design and maintain data architecture leveraging BigQuery and Looker, ensuring reliable and accessible data for all teamsDrive the company's business analytics and reporting capability, establishing frameworks, definitions, and KPIs that support companywide visibility and accountabilityPartner with an existing shared analytics resource to deliver dashboards and ad-hoc reporting for functional leaders, ensuring alignment on key metrics and business logicDevelop and improve processes to measure and manage ecommerce funnel metrics, from site traffic and conversion through fulfillment and retention, providing consistent visibility into performance drivers across marketing, merchandising, and operationsEnsure strong data governance, clear documentation, and scalable reporting processes that support informed decision-makingOperational Technology Leadership :
Serve as ROKA's in house technical leader, providing technical expertise to different departments and promoting cross-functional collaborationSupport ongoing Shopify development and customization, directly or through agency partnersCollaborate with leadership to align systems and data infrastructure with company strategy, enabling scalability and automationOversee vendor selection, implementation, and integrations for any new tools or platformsStrategic Planning & Roadmap :
Develop a technology roadmap aligned with company goals and operational priorities.Identify opportunities to improve process efficiency, data visibility, and system interoperabilityPartner with e-commerce and marketing teams to enhance end-to-end funnel measurement, attribution visibility, and profitability tracking across customer journeysTranslate business needs into technical solutions and actionable implementation plansMust Haves
Experience :
Proven experience (10+ years) with a track record of success in technology, operations systems, or data architecture. Ideally in a consumer products or ecommerce environmentProven experience with NetSuite, Shopify, and related integrationsExperience implementing new technologies and systems company wideExperience overseeing existing company wide systemsStrong understanding of data engineering principles and experience with BigQuery, Looker, or equivalent analytics platformsExperience driving analytics initiatives and enabling business users with accessible, consistent reportingHands-on experience building or overseeing integrations (e.g., API, middleware, ETL)Familiarity with WMS and inventory management systemsSkills & Attributes :

ROKA is located in Austin, TX, USA. The company is on a hybrid work schedule. Candidates must be prepared to work on-site as often as needed per the department's business needs. Remote candidates will not be considered for this position.
