Job Summary : Responsible for interfacing with suppliers to ensure that quality expectations are met. To nourish a good relationship with suppliers.
Required Education and Experience :
Community College courses in Quality related discipline4+ years in Quality Engineering role, with as SQE (welding and / or stamping)Tier 1, Tier 2 or OEM experience is a strong assetStrong communicator in the English language, both written and verbalProficient in the understanding and use of Statistical process control (SPC)Proficient in the use of mmeasuring equipment (i.e. verniers, micrometer, height gauges, profile projector, etc.)Familiar with TS16949 / ISO14001 quality and environmental management standards an assetProduct and process knowledge of molding, painting, class A commodity would be preferredKnowledge of the PLEX system preferredEssential Functions :
Represent the needs of the company to the supplier by addressing quality system requirements.Liaison with supplier to ensure timely resolution of issues; travel to Supplier / customer when required.To notify internal and external suppliers of potential problems and make recommendations for resolutionsResponsible for organizing containment of non-conforming supplied product.Responsible for trouble shooting root cause analysis, SPC data analysis, implementation and maintain up to date documentations related to APQP documentationParticipate in Team Oriented Problem Solving (corrective and preventive actions)Participate in Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP)Participate and approve PPAP submissions as requiredManage and facilitate the monthly Supplier Accumulation programsCreate and submit accurately Supplier Debits in relation to non-conformances and Accumulation.To review and make recommendations for the disposition of non-conforming / suspect products in a timely manner and ensure formal corrective actions are answered within customer's guidelinesContribute and assist in variability reduction, process improvement and continuous improvementEnsure all documentation for the Department are properly maintained and controlled as per IATF16949Participate in regular process audits and internal quality audits to determine the effectiveness of the quality system.Conduct Supplier Assessment and Supplier Audits as required.Must be willing to work overtime when requiredAbide by all Company polices including, but not limited to the following : Health and Safety, Quality and Environmental Systems, Human Resources policies, and the Martinrea Employee HandbookMartinrea International Inc. is proud to provide employment accommodation during the recruitment process.
