Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a combined ER and Med Surg position requiring a SD or compact RN license and recent ER and MS experience.
Responsibilities
Work in a Critical Access Hospital setting, floating between the Emergency Room and Med Surg unitsPatient population includes both emergency and med surg cases, with up to 5 patients on the MS unitTypical nurse-to-patient ratio on Med Surg is 3-4 : 1, depending on census and acuityUses EPIC for charting as well as Sanford One Charge and Pixis medication systemsSchedule consists of rotating 12-hour day and night shifts, totaling 36 hours per weekEvery other weekend and holiday coverage is requiredThree call shifts are required over the 13-week contractUnit has 25 bedsFloating is required between ER and Med SurgResponsibilities include providing direct patient care in both the ER and Med Surg settingsEPIC computer training and unit-specific orientation are providedMust follow Sanford dress code : navy scrubs with no logos, with optional white undershirt or white lab coatAll clinicians must badge in and out at the facilityHoliday coverage is expected as part of the rotating scheduleFirst-time travelers are eligible for considerationLocal candidates will be considered with an adjustment in pay rate for those residing within 80 milesRequirements
Active SD or compact RN license in handMinimum 2 years of RN experienceAt least 6 months of ER and 6 months of Med Surg experience within the past yearCurrent BLS and ACLS certifications (AHA required)NRP certification is required (may be completed onsite with approval if not already held)TNCC certification is preferredAbility to function independently in both ER and Med Surg settingsBenefits
