The Strategic Purchasing Specialist is responsible for evaluating all purchase acquisitions and purchase orders on regular basis, record keeping and preparing all reports to identify outstanding orders and receive shipments in a timely manner.
MEASURES OF SUCCESS :
- Collaborate with the Purchasing Manager to analyze inventory levels and sales orders, generating proposed purchase orders as needed.
- Create all indirect purchase orders for freight and MRO (Maintenance, Repair, and Operations) supplies.
- Verify all invoices and packing lists for pricing, item descriptions, and case packs to ensure accuracy prior to shipment.
- Maintain an up-to-date and accurate price file for all suppliers.
- Manage purchase order records and shipment documentation to support auditing and SOX compliance.
- Work closely with Accounting to ensure timely payments—including prepayments—by providing complete purchasing packets for processing.
- Receive goods in the system, verify physical counts against shipping and receiving documents, and forward approved documentation to Accounting for payment according to supplier terms.
- Partner with Logistics to ensure all shipment documentation is accurate prior to container arrival.
- Investigate and resolve discrepancies such as recount verifications, debit / credit memos, and supplier notifications.
IDEAL CANDIDATE ATTRIBUTES :
