Job description
A company is looking for a Coder II to assign diagnoses and procedure codes to medical records.
Key Responsibilities
Assigns correct ICD-10-CM and CPT codes to diagnoses and procedures in medical records
Reviews medical documentation thoroughly to ensure accurate coding and queries physicians to resolve discrepancies
Maintains knowledge of coding guidelines and updates, ensuring adherence to official coding conventions
Required Qualifications
High School Diploma or Equivalent
Graduate of a Health Information Management Program (preferred)
1 year of experience in Medical Record Coding
Any AAPC or AHIMA Medical Coding Certification
