Travel Respiratory Therapist – Rochelle Park, NJ

Night Shift | 3x12s | 13-Week Assignment

NJ State Licensure Required

HumanEdge Health is seeking an experienced Travel Respiratory Therapist (RT) for a 13-week night shift assignment in Rochelle Park, New Jersey . The ideal candidate will be passionate about patient care and skilled in both invasive and non-invasive respiratory therapies.

Key Responsibilities :

Deliver high-quality respiratory care and patient transport as medically prescribed

Assess patient conditions and develop individualized treatment plans

Administer physician-prescribed respiratory treatments using ventilators, oxygen devices, and aerosol therapy

Perform chest physiotherapy and suctioning techniques (oropharyngeal, nasal, tracheal)

Conduct oximetry and capnography monitoring and interpret results

Review chest x-rays and support further evaluations

Perform and interpret 12-lead EKGs and basic arrhythmias

Conduct pulmonary function studies (NIF, VC, etc.)

Assist with respiratory procedures (e.g., bronchoscopy, chest tube placement, Perc Trachs)

Perform tracheostomy care, including tube insertion and removal

Draw and analyze arterial blood gases

Follow laboratory testing protocols across pre-analytic, analytic, and post-analytic phases

Operate ventilatory equipment and monitor mechanical ventilation

Support equipment maintenance and repair

Accurately chart treatment records, responses, and patient education

Collaborate with attending and pulmonary physicians for therapy adjustments

Maintain safe, clean work environments and uphold infection control standards

Participate in shift-change reporting and maintain accurate billing documentation

Requirements :

Active New Jersey Respiratory Care License (required)

BLS and ACLS certification

Minimum 1 year of recent RT experience, preferably in LTAC or critical care settings

Strong clinical judgment, time management, and communication skills
