Our Kennesaw campus is located at 1000 Chastain Road NW, Kennesaw, GA 30144. Our Marietta campus is located at 1100 South Marietta Parkway, Marietta, GA 30060.

Department Information

The School of Conflict Management, Peacebuilding and Development offers a Master's degree in Conflict Management and a Ph.D. in International Conflict Management, the only such degrees in Georgia. It also houses the Center for Conflict Management which promotes peace and conflict resolution and provides training and interventions in conflict management skills to non-degree seekers. The school generates rigorous interdisciplinary academic and policy-relevant research while strengthening capacities for peace and constructive conflict engagement. Through our graduate programs and center trainings and workshops, we prepare principled leaders and reflective practitioners to serve in diverse and complex environments.

With more than 400 full-time faculty and 8,100 degree-seeking students, the Norman J. Radow College of Humanities & Social Sciences is dedicated to pioneering workforce readiness in the humanities and social sciences. By staying true to our Liberal Arts values and integrating practical knowledge and experiential learning into our curriculum, we empower our students to become responsible citizens ready for the demands of the modern workplace. The home of three schools and eight departments, the College offers more than 80 graduate and undergraduate programs of study in both traditional and interdisciplinary fields. Job Summary

Kennesaw State University is now accepting applications for a full-time, tenure track faculty position as Assistant Professor of Conflict Management in the School of Conflict Management, Peacebuilding, and Development with a preferred start date of August 2026. This is a nine-month contracted position. This position is for work to be performed in the state of Georgia.

Responsibilities

Strong scholarship, along with a commitment to excellence in teaching and engagement, is expected of all faculty members in the Norman J. Radow College of Humanities and Social Sciences at Kennesaw State University. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to :

  • Teaching graduate courses in our master's and doctoral programs, such as courses in mediation, negotiation, conflict theory, research methods (quantitative and / or qualitative), and / or courses in the candidate's area of expertise.
  • Teaching courses in a variety of modalities, including in an executive style program that meets on Fridays and Saturdays.
  • Engaging in programmatic research that results in publication in refereed journals. Those on a research-intensive track are also expected to seek out extramural funding.
  • Service to the School, College, University, and / or Profession.

Teaching assignments will be based on earned degrees and SACSCOC Faculty Credentials Guidelines.

Required Qualifications

  • A PhD or the foreign equivalent, in conflict management, or a related discipline, is required at the time of hire.
  • Demonstrated teaching effectiveness at the university level, or comparable instructional experience in a professional setting.
  • Demonstrated record of research and scholarship.
  • Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience relevant to teach some courses in the MSCM and / or INCM program (for example, mediation, negotiation, conflict theory, research methods, organizational dispute and justice systems, organizational and workplace conflict, cultural aspects of conflict, technology and conflict, international development, among other areas).
  • Practical professional experience or applied research in a relevant area.
  • Experience in or potential for securing external funding.
  • Ability to teach in different modalities, such as online, hybrid, face-to-face, and weekends.
