Overview
Reading Teacher role at Fulton County Schools. This position provides instruction for students to learn and demonstrate mastery of the Georgia Performance Standards.
Responsibilities
- Provide content-related and appropriate instruction based on Fulton County's curriculum
- Create a classroom environment that promotes active learning in the subject area
- Demonstrate knowledge of performance-based instruction and assessment
- Communicate responsibly with students, parents, colleagues, and school leadership
- Monitor student attendance and punctuality
- Follow all county, state, and federal policies and procedures
- Maintain professional ethics in all work-related activities
- Prepare adequately for responsibilities to be assumed when absent
- Collaborate with parents / guardians in all aspects of the student's educational program
- Facilitate home-school communication through conferences, telephone, and written communications
- Integrate appropriate technology into classroom instruction
- Avoid behaviors that detract from staff morale
- Perform other duties as assigned by the appropriate administrator
Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree from a regionally accredited universityValid Georgia Teaching Certification in the applicable field or eligible to hold a valid Georgia Teaching Certificate0-1 year of classroom experience requiredProven communication and instructional strategiesClassroom management skillsExcellent oral and written communication skillsExcellent organizational skillsKnowledge, Skills & Abilities
