Job description
Enhance Communication Skills Through Compassion and Expertise in the Vibrant City of Lincoln, Nebraska - Become a Speech Language Pathologist with Us!

Overview

Your next career adventure could be more than just a job; it can be a journey of empowerment and transformation. As a Speech Language Pathologist in the lively community of Lincoln, your role will extend far beyond treating communication and swallowing disorders. It will be about fostering potential, instilling confidence, and nurturing connections - from children mastering their first phrases to seniors regaining their ability to engage.

This position offers a rare chance to work with diverse age groups, creating an impactful journey across the lifespan in a setting that combines outpatient therapy with occasional inpatient responsibilities. Whether your interests lie in pediatric speech and language development, adult neurological communication challenges, or geriatric cognitive-linguistic therapy, you'll discover profound fulfillment and professional flexibility within our team.

Description
  • Conduct comprehensive evaluations for pediatric, adult, and geriatric populations utilizing standardized assessments and observational methods.
  • Create individualized treatment plans that target both immediate objectives and long-range communication, cognitive, or swallowing goals.
  • Implement one-on-one speech therapy interventions emphasizing communication, language, fluency, voice modulation, and swallowing techniques.
  • Partner with a multidisciplinary team inclusive of physical and occupational therapists, nurses, physicians, family members, and caregivers to align care strategies.
  • Provide education to patients and their families to facilitate therapy progress outside of clinical appointments.
  • Participate in occasional inpatient evaluations and speech therapy treatment sessions, ensuring a seamless care continuum.
  • Uphold consistent, accurate documentation that adheres to state, federal, and organizational standards.
  • Engage in ongoing professional development through continuing education and collaborative peer interactions.
Education
  • Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from a recognized institution.
  • Completion of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if not yet certified by ASHA.
Certifications
  • Valid state licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist.
  • Preferred: Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required within the first month of employment.
Skills
  • Expertise in evidence-based therapeutic approaches for all age ranges, with in-depth knowledge of developmental and acquired speech, language, and swallowing disorders.
  • Strong interpersonal communication abilities to engage effectively with patients, families, and the interdisciplinary healthcare team.
  • Capability to adjust therapy techniques to cater to varied cultural and language backgrounds.
  • Solid clinical judgment and innovative problem-solving skills.
  • Proficient with electronic health records and documentation expectations.
Benefits
  • Attractive compensation reflecting experience and qualifications.
  • Flexible scheduling options promoting a balanced work-life dynamic and diverse caseloads.
  • Chances to specialize in pediatric therapy, adult neuro rehabilitation, or geriatric care.
  • Paid time off (PTO) along with holiday pay.
  • Medical, dental, vision, and life insurance options available.
  • Support for continuing education and professional growth.
  • A collaborative, team-oriented environment focused on exceptional care and continuous learning.

A Journey of Impact Awaits You

As a part of our team, you won't merely provide speech therapy; you'll join a mission-driven community dedicated to restoring voices, strengthening expressive skills, and creating cherished connections through the fundamental human acts of communication.

Your future colleagues will treat you like family, within an environment that prioritizes teamwork rather than competition. Every individual you meet has a unique story; we trust you to influence how it's articulated.

The Experience of Living and Working Here

Living in Lincoln offers a unique rhythm that harmonizes innovation with Midwestern charm. Surrounded by wide-open spaces, parks, and vibrant local arts, this city embraces the blend of nature, culture, and opportunity.

Families come together in beautiful parks for festivals and outdoor concerts, while nature enthusiasts find joy in biking scenic trails and exploring community gardens. The culinary scene is just as diverse, with everything from casual eateries serving classic comfort food to upscale dining experiences that highlight local ingredients.

Lincoln thrives on creativity, felt in its bustling arts districts, melodic music venues, and lively community events that unite residents of all backgrounds. For professionals, the prospects extend beyond the physical surroundings - a reasonable cost of living, absence of state income tax, and a flourishing healthcare network make this city an ideal location for career advancement.

No matter if you are at the onset of your professional journey or a seasoned expert ready to explore new avenues, Lincoln offers ample room for personal and professional growth.

Who We're Looking For

We seek a Speech Language Pathologist whose motivations stem not just from reaching goals but also from a deep-rooted empathy. Someone who envisions the potential of a shy child yearning for self-expression; who hears the struggles of a stroke survivor and responds with encouragement.

Be it a pediatric aficionado transitioning to adult services or a specialist focused on neuro-rehabilitation seeking to incorporate early interventions, your passion will find a home here.

If you're ready to lead with care, we are eager to welcome you into our community.

Let's Communicate Our Future Together

If you believe that speech extends beyond mere sounds and that therapy encompasses more than tasks; if you champion the value of trust in therapeutic relationships, paired with a dose of fun, this might just be the next exciting chapter in your professional narrative.

Join us in our quest to celebrate the power of communication, connection, and the courage required to embark on healing journeys. Apply today to lend your voice to our team - and help others uncover theirs.
