We are seeking a skilled Occupational Therapist to join our team at Thursday's Child Inc. in Brooklyn, NY. This role is vital in delivering high-quality therapeutic interventions that enhance the development and well-being of young children with Autism, aligning with our mission to support families during their early intervention journey.
- Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive assessments of children's needs and develop individualized treatment plans.
- Implement therapeutic interventions to improve children's daily living skills and overall functioning.
- Collaborate with families to educate them on strategies that promote their child's development.
- Monitor progress and adjust treatment plans as necessary to ensure optimal outcomes.
- Work closely with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate care for each child.
- Provide training and support for parents and caregivers in implementing therapeutic techniques at home.
- Maintain accurate documentation of patient progress and treatment outcomes.
- Stay updated on best practices in occupational therapy and early intervention.
- Qualifications
- Master's degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program.
- Valid state licensure as an Occupational Therapist.
- Experience working with children, particularly those diagnosed with Autism, is highly preferred.
- Strong knowledge of early intervention practices and pediatric therapy techniques.
- Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration with families and team members.
- Ability to develop individualized care plans tailored to each child's unique needs.
- Compassionate approach towards working with children and their families.
- Familiarity with medical terminology and documentation requirements.
