Branch Chief Position
This position serves as a Branch Chief within the Center for Development of Security Excellence (CDSE) of the Defense Counterintelligence Security Agency (DCSA), subordinate agency to the Office of the Secretary of War. The CDSE develops education and training products, services, and course curricula, and administers specialty courses such as those for personnel security, physical security, information security, industrial security, special access programs and information systems security.

Conditions of Employment Qualifications This position has a Basic Requirement for the 1712 : Undergraduate and Graduate Education : Major study education or a subject area related to the position to be filled. or Specialized Experience (for positions above GS-5) : Experience that demonstrated a practical knowledge of the subject area of the position and of the methods and techniques of instruction. The applicant must have directly applicable experience that demonstrates the possession of the knowledge, skills, abilities and competencies necessary for immediate success in the position. Qualifying experience may have been acquired in any public or private sector job, but will clearly demonstrate past experience in the application of the particular competencies / knowledge, skills and abilities necessary to successfully perform the duties of the position. You must have specialized experience sufficient to demonstrate that you have acquired all the competencies necessary to perform at a level equivalent in difficulty, responsibility, and complexity to the next lower grade GS / GG-13 in the Federal service and are prepared to take on greater responsibility. Generally, this would include one year or more of such specialized experience.
Specialized experience for this position includes : Expert knowledge of personnel vetting programs, including policies and requirements governed by the Security Executive Agent (SecEA) and Suitability Executive Agent (SuitEA). Experience planning, coordinating, and facilitating security training programs, products, and services to support the national security workforce. Also, skill in managing complex projects using project management life-cycle principles to deliver mission-aligned outcomes. Strong supervisory background, including mentoring staff, evaluating employee performance, and participating in recruitment and hiring processes.
