Starting Rate : $55,000 - $70,000 / year based on experience

Environment : Special Education Program, Grades K-12

As a Behavior Support Coordinator , you will provide essential clinical and educational support tailored to the individual needs of students in Grades K-12 . Your role will encompass delivering educational and clinical training, evaluating staff performance, and ensuring adherence to all relevant laws, regulations, and internal standards governing educational and behavioral programs.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Provide comprehensive training and ongoing support to program staff in conducting Functional Behavior Assessments (FBAs) and developing effective Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs).
  • Oversee and maintain quality standards for academic instruction and behavioral intervention services provided to all students.
  • Deliver targeted training and mentorship on evidence-based teaching practices to align with each student's Individual Education Plan (IEP) goals.
  • Evaluate professional development needs of program staff and research, design, and implement relevant training programs.
  • Participate in and promote continuous staff professional growth through attendance at relevant conferences and workshops.
  • Lead training and certification in Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) strategies for program staff.
  • Collaborate with the Program Director on effective hiring, orientation, and training processes for behavioral program staff.
  • Conduct research and make recommendations for adopting evidence-based curricula compliant with Department of Education guidelines.
  • Continuously evaluate and refine support systems to meet the unique needs of students and classrooms.
  • Participate in required meetings such as student progress reviews and parent-teacher conferences.
  • Conduct regular quality assurance evaluations and document findings to enhance program effectiveness.
  • Ensure compliance with Department of Education regulations and ChanceLight's internal standards.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by program leadership.

Qualifications :

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in applied behavior sciences, special education, or a closely related field.
  • Licensure as a board certified behavior analyst (BCBA) preferred.
  • Special education credential preferred.
  • Prior experience and knowledge in special education services for students with autism and emotional disturbances.
  • Skilled in working with individuals with severe learning and emotional behavioral disorders.
  • Prior experience with students having individualized education plans (IEPs).
  • Expertise in applied behavior analysis (ABA), positive behavior interventions and supports (PBIS), effective teaching strategies, and classroom management.
  • Experience in crisis management and intervention systems.
  • Proficient in oral and written communication with strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.
  • Familiarity with relevant technology, including Microsoft Office Suite and basic office equipment.
