Job Description & Requirements
Title : Echo Tech / Cardiac Sonographer
Location : Greensboro, North Carolina
Duration : 13 weeks
Shift :
Day Shift – 5x8 Hours (7 : 30 AM – 3 : 00 PM; occasional 8 : 30 AM rotation)
Rotating weekends – approximately 1 in every 4 weeks
Floating required between main and nearby campus (within 3 miles)
Job Responsibilities :
Perform inpatient and outpatient echocardiograms, including 2D, 3D, M-Mode, Color Doppler, and contrast-enhanced studies.
Conduct bubble studies, portable studies, and strain imaging as required.
Assist with specialized cardiac procedures such as Transesophageal Echocardiograms (TEE) and stress echo testing.
Evaluate cardiac structures and functions, including right ventricular inflow / outflow tracts (RVIT / RVOT).
Perform Impella checks, LVAD and Ramp studies (preferred).
Utilize PACS and Philips imaging systems for diagnostic review and reporting.
Document findings accurately in EPIC electronic medical record system.
Collaborate with physicians and clinical staff to ensure quality imaging and efficient workflow.
Provide patient education and maintain safety and infection control standards.
Required Skills & Qualifications :
Certifications :
Registered Echo Tech / Cardiac Sonographer (ARDMS-RDCS AE or CCI-RCS)
Basic Life Support (BLS)
Experience :
Minimum 2 years of recent echocardiography experience.
Proficiency with EPIC EMR (required).
Experience in community hospital settings (required).
Experience in a teaching or trauma level I facility (preferred).
Technical Skills : \nAdult echo, 2D and 3D echocardiography, color Doppler, and imaging with contrast agents.\nFamiliarity with GE and / or Philips ultrasound systems.\nExperience with Definity contrast and bubble studies required.\n\nWork Environment Experience : \nAdult acute care, outpatient, ICU, and emergency department settings.\n\nPreferred Qualifications : \nProficiency in Transesophageal Echocardiography (TEE).\nExperience performing LVAD, Ramp, and Impella evaluations.\nStrong ability to adapt to multiple facility environments.\nExcellent communication and teamwork skills within multidisciplinary teams.
