Geosyntec is looking for a Senior Civil / Geological Engineer, Solid Waste & Mining to join our Engineering Consulting practice in Little Rock, AK or our St. Louis, MO office. The potential to work a hybrid schedule or remotely from your home-office is available at the discretion of the Company. Apply your engineering or geology skills to projects involving landfills, transfer stations, surface impoundments, geologic and hydrogeologic investigations, solid waste planning, and other solid waste management systems while further developing the business skills needed for a successful consulting career.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Business development, program and project management, and technical lead for mining projects related to mine impacted water treatment, hydrology and water management, reclamation and closure planning, sustainability, containment technologies, and regulatory permitting / compliance solutions;
• Maintaining high visibility in the marketplace through regular client contact, participation in client-based professional organizations, and attendance and presentations at industry events;
• Identifying and developing successful client relationships and new business development opportunities on a local, regional, or national basis;
• Managing programs, projects and staff, including providing technical leadership and oversight, risk management, and mentoring;
• Landfill engineering design, including liner and final cover system design, landfill gas system design, site closure and financial assurance;
• Coal combustion residual closure design, permitting, and planning;
• Civil design, transfer station design, stormwater design, and site layout;
• Engineering analyses such as slope stability, hydrologic and landfill gas modeling, seismic, and seepage;
• Project / task management and proposal preparation support;
• Understanding of local, state and federal regulations related to solid waste;
• Preparation of permit applications, design calculations, drawings, technical specifications, and permit applications;
• Fieldwork associated with investigation, design and construction services; and
• Drive personal, company, and rental vehicles to client or company project or office sites, and other business locations, as needed.
