About the Role
The Company is seeking a Chief Operating Officer (COO) to serve as the primary steward of its internal operations, ensuring that the organization's strategy, priorities, and values are effectively integrated into daily practices. The COO will be responsible for overseeing a range of functions, including enterprise risk management, human resources, information technology, legal affairs, and cross-departmental coordination. This role is pivotal in maintaining operational integrity, fostering organizational effectiveness, and promoting a positive, mission-aligned workplace culture. The successful candidate will be a key partner to the Executive Team, driving accountability and performance, and will be expected to model integrity, accountability, and inclusivity in all practices.
Applicants for the COO position at the company should have a minimum of 10 years' of senior management experience, with a preference for those with a background in philanthropy, nonprofit management, or a related field. The role requires a proven ability to lead cross-functional teams, build organizational systems, and demonstrate expertise in operational planning, HR and talent development, compliance, and risk management. Strong interpersonal and communication skills are essential, as is a commitment to the company's mission and values. A Bachelor's degree is required, with a Juris Doctor or master's degree in a relevant field highly desired. The ideal candidate will have a valid State of Florida Drivers license, be located in the Jacksonville, Florida metropolitan area, and be prepared for local and some long-distance travel.
