Manufacturing Quality Technician - Nightshift
Position Summary
The Quality Auditor plays a key role in maintaining high manufacturing standards by ensuring that every product meets required quality specifications. This position involves conducting inspections throughout all stages of production, performing product testing, recording and reporting audit results, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives.
Primary Responsibilities
Quality Auditing and Inspection
Conduct product inspections throughout all phases of production; approximately 80% of work time will be spent on the production floor.
Verify that products and processes meet established specifications and job requirements.
Complete and maintain accurate quality and audit documentation.
Collect product samples for internal and customer testing purposes.
Testing and Equipment Maintenance
Perform testing on raw materials, finished products, and equipment as required.
Analyze testing outcomes and report any deviations from defined standards to operations.
Record testing results electronically and maintain proper documentation.
Assist with equipment calibration and general maintenance to ensure accuracy and compliance.
Management of Non-Conforming Products and Materials
Identify and communicate root causes of quality defects to operators and supervisors.
Assist with determining the appropriate handling and rework of non-conforming products.
Support and monitor rework or sorting activities to ensure compliance with quality standards.
Support and Training
Promote and maintain safe work practices and cleanliness throughout the facility.
File and archive quality records, both electronically and in print.
Provide basic quality training for new production employees.
Train and mentor new quality auditors as assigned.
Safety and Compliance
Follow all safety rules, procedures, and company policies.
Report safety concerns, incidents, or injuries promptly.
Maintain punctuality and support overtime or schedule changes as required.
Adhere to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and promote teamwork and respect in all interactions.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
Capable of multitasking and maintaining effective communication across teams.
Proficient with Microsoft Excel and Word.
Skilled in the use, maintenance, and calibration of test equipment.
Ability to obtain and operate a forklift certification safely.
Self-motivated and able to work independently.
Willingness to learn, train others, and contribute to continuous improvement.
Education and Experience
High school diploma or GED required.
Minimum of two years of quality experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
Working Conditions
Lift up to 50 lbs. regularly.
Ability to stand and / or walk for 8–12 hours per shift. (7 pm to 7 am)
Perform frequent bending, climbing, twisting, and reaching tasks.
Must have good color vision and visual acuity.
Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation required for travel between facilities.
Ability to work extended shifts or overtime as needed.
