Clerical Support Services For Gas Department
The purpose of this classification is to perform clerical support services for the gas department. Create and process work orders. Maintain dottie requests for the Louisiana 811 website. Perform various clerical duties to carry out the daily technical operations of the gas department. Coordinate gas services with various departments and customers to ensure proper procedures are followed.
Examples of duties include :
Coordinate gas utility services with the Utility office and various departments within the city for services to be connected and disconnected.
Contacts customers to schedule appointments for gas services. Escalate customer complaints to the supervisor.
Performs computer data entry of data from various sources including applications and forms; inputs corrections and updates; verifies data for accuracy and completeness.
Enter accurate information for the dottie request on Louisiana 811 website for the Gas department to record work orders requested.
Answers and screens telephone calls; provides information and assistance to callers; forwards calls to appropriate staff; takes messages as necessary. Maintain accurate call logs for SCADA.
Performs a variety of duties and filing documents; maintains logs for the gas department record keeping.
Operates a variety of office equipment including a copier, facsimile machine, and computer; inputs and retrieves data and text; organizes and maintains data storage and back-up.
Distributes or files computer print outs; performs various clerical duties within the department.
Ensures compliance with all applicable rules, regulations, standards, policies and procedures; initiates any actions necessary to correct deviations.
Typical qualifications include :
High school diploma or GED required. One (1) year of experience performing clerical duties, utility customer service, or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job. Must be able to efficiently use email, and use Microsoft office suite programs. Must possess a valid drivers license. Must obtain a valid State of Louisiana drivers license at time of appointment and maintain throughout employment for this classification.
