Job Title : School Bus Driver

Purpose : The School Bus Driver is responsible for providing safe and efficient transportation of students over a specified route, according to a time schedule, for curriculum and extra-curricular activities.

Duties and Responsibilities :

• Follow all rules, policies and procedures of the school, along with regulations pertaining to the Department of Transportation.
• Complies with all traffic ordinance.
• Observes all mandatory safety regulation for school buses.
• In tandem with the Bus Monitor, maintains discipline when students are on the bus. Reports undisciplined students to the proper authority.
• Keeps assigned bus clean.
• Checks bus before each operation for mechanical defects.
• Notifies the proper authority in case of mechanical failure or lateness.
• Discharges students only at authorized stops.
• Transports only authorized students.
• Reports all accidents and completed required reports.
• Stays current with state rules and regulations pertaining to driving and transporting students.

Other : Bus Driver is a non-exempt hourly paid position and is required to clock in and out to ensure accurate record keeping to comply with Department of Labor standards. Must have a reliable means of communication for quick response to the Office Manager and Headmaster to support effective school operations.
