Primary Purpose : You will develop and lead teams to conduct studies and create specifications, evaluations, design documents, performance assessments, cost estimates, and budgets associated with the planning, design, licensing, construction, commissioning, operation, and maintenance of Exelon's transmission facilities and systems. You will offer consultation and recommendations based on evaluations of company or customer-owned systems and processes, while reviewing financial data regarding project budgets and costs. Your technical expertise will guide strategic, legislative, and operational decisions, as you participate in shaping internal and industry standards and technology in your specialized area of expertise. In this role, you will also train and mentor others.
Please note : This position may require extended hours during storms or energy delivery emergencies. This is a hybrid role (in-office with remote flexibility), requiring a minimum of three days in the office each week (Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday) at our Oakbrook Terrace, IL location. Relocation assistance is available.
Primary Duties :
- Lead and perform specialized engineering assignments requiring extensive expertise.
- Conduct engineering tasks and projects linked to critical or analytical areas, which might include field testing and troubleshooting.
- Evaluate, develop, implement, and lead financially impactful projects while writing and managing documentation deliverables.
- Contribute to departmental planning through site assessments, attending meetings, and monitoring performance against budget recommendations.
- Perform assignments independently or as a leader of multi-discipline teams, providing oversight for contractors.
- Serve as a subject matter expert and provide expert opinions as needed.
- Make performance and cost-effectiveness recommendations to management.
- Offer detailed technical training and mentorship to others.
- Engage in technical and industry committees to stay current on new technologies and make strategic business decisions regarding emerging engineering techniques and tools.

Bachelor of Science in Engineering or Licensed Professional Engineer (PE).Proficient in analyzing and interpreting complex electrical and mechanical systems.Well-versed in engineering designs, principles, and practices.7+ years of professional engineering experience with substantial knowledge in specialized areas.Ability to resolve complex issues using advanced engineering principles.Three related career experiences or equivalent credentials, such as committee leadership or professional engineering license.Preferred Qualifications :
Graduate degree or advanced certification in Engineering, Business Administration, or Project Management.Professional Engineer's License.Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills, with effective communication across management levels.Proficiency with analysis software tools such as CYMDIST, PSS / E, Python, PSCAD, MATLAB, etc.Ability to analyze industry trends and implement improvements.Benefits :
