Overview
Space Assembly Integration and Test (AI&T) IPT Lead - Staff Engineer Systems role at Northrop Grumman. On-site in Linthicum, MD, in a high bay cleanroom and RF anechoic chamber. Eligible for up to a $10k sign-on bonus.
Responsibilities
- Lead and work together as a team to handle issues across AI&T activities during the Prototype and Production phases.
- Provide technical leadership, direction, and support to ~20 integration and test engineers (often across 3 shifts, 24 / 7) for the Prototype phase.
- Provide planning, technical leadership, and coordination for the Production phase, whose NRE activities overlap with Prototype efforts.
- Support development and execution of Test Router and Test Specification (T-Spec); the Test Router lists testing in the compact range and provides test plans and direction to Test Directors and Bench Operators.
- Serve as Primary POC on the phone tree for technical help.
- Support collaboration with subject matter experts to evaluate system performance and verify requirements for sell-off.
- Communicate technical issues to program leadership.
- Help resolve technical issues with test procedures and test equipment.
- Act as Payload Representative at program meetings (TRRs, BOCs) for subassemblies (Panels, ESA Antenna, Processors); update Payload AI&T status slides; support Payload Engineering Review Board.
- Help resolve test failures : determine troubleshooting plan, prioritize testing, determine RCCA, coordinate staffing and scheduling, close Jira tickets, and provide technical input for QNs in SAP; generate technical portions of slides for milestones and support I&T and program reviews.
- Daily Shift Change / CCB comments on new tickets; participate in 2nd–3rd shift meetings as required.
- Lead or assist with Anomaly Resolution Team / Failure Review Board data gathering and slides.
- Participate in SLCs (Signatures, Limitations and Constraints) meetings; submit / modify SLC entries based on Payload testing.
Basic Qualifications
BS in STEM with 12 years relevant experience or 10 years with MS.No clearance required to start, but ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government DoD Top Secret security clearance and SCI approval / access.Sensor System Integration and Test experience (e.g., with RADAR, SIGINT, or COMMS).Space Integration and Test experience at subsystem, payload, or space vehicle level.Technical and team leadership abilities.Ability for some travel (less than 10%) to support program meetings, payload delivery, and AI&T efforts at the Launch Vehicle Integrator site.Preferred Qualifications
Active U.S. Government DoD Top Secret clearance at application time and within scope, with ability to obtain / maintain SCI access.BS in Electrical or Computer Engineering.ESA / Phased Array Antenna Integration, Test, and Calibration experience.Functional leadership and coaching-for-growth.Compensation and Benefits
Primary Level Salary Range : $163,200.00 - $244,800.00
The salary range is a general guideline; offers consider scope, responsibilities, candidate experience and market conditions. Overtime, shift differential, and discretionary bonuses may apply. Long Term Incentives may be available for certain positions. Benefits include health insurance, life and disability insurance, 401(k) savings plan, company-paid holidays, and PTO.
