With a strong focus on quality, safety, and customer satisfaction, we are seeking a dependable and experienced Shop Manager to oversee the operations of our shop and equipment yard.
Position Summary :
The Shop Manager will be responsible for the maintenance, organization, and daily operation of the shop and equipment fleet. This includes overseeing repairs and preventive maintenance for landscaping equipment and vehicles, managing inventory and supplies, coordinating with field teams, and ensuring a safe and efficient work environment.
Key Responsibilities :
Supervise day-to-day shop operations, including equipment maintenance, repairs, and tool managementSchedule and perform preventive maintenance on landscaping equipment, trucks, trailers, and small engines (mowers, trimmers, blowers, etc.)Manage inventory of tools, parts, and supplies; order materials as needed and maintain organized stock levelsInspect equipment before and after use to ensure safety and functionalityCoordinate with field crews to fulfill equipment and tool needs efficientlyMaintain accurate records of repairs, maintenance schedules, and inventoryEnsure compliance with safety regulations and company policiesHire, train, and supervise shop assistants or mechanics (if applicable)Provide hands-on mechanical support when neededMonitor shop budget and seek cost-effective solutionsQualifications :
3+ years of experience in a similar role, preferably in landscaping, construction, or fleet managementStrong mechanical knowledge of landscaping tools, small engines, and light vehiclesProven experience in managing inventory and procurementAbility to diagnose and repair equipment independentlyExcellent organizational and communication skillsWorking knowledge of OSHA safety standards and equipment complianceValid drivers license (DOT a plus)High school diploma or equivalent (Technical certification preferred)
