Summit TRC is looking for an experienced and motivated Systems Engineer to join our team supporting advanced command and control systems. The ideal candidate will bridge the gap between end-users and engineering teams, eliciting, developing, and managing system requirements while contributing to system architecture and integration.

This role will be performed onsite in Huntsville, AL

Key Responsibilities :

  • Work closely with end users to elicit and capture requirements from capability developers, warfighters, and initial capability descriptions
  • Develop and decompose system-level requirements ensuring traceability across the system lifecycle
  • Capture use cases, features, and user stories for software and systems development
  • Analyze and evaluate system architectures and implementations, including review of engineering artifacts and source code
  • Develop and document system-of-systems (SoS) architectures and configurations
  • Identify and develop key command-and-control (C2) interfaces between sensors, shooters, and C2 systems
  • Manage requirements development and maintenance in any toolset

Required Qualifications :

  • Bachelors degree in a relevant field
  • 5+ years of relevant experience
  • Active Secret clearance
  • Domain expertise (Weapon systems including sensors, shooters, and command-and-control integration)
  • Strong experience writing, deriving, decomposing, and managing requirements
  • Familiarity with MBSE and using tools like Cameo, SysML, UML, DoDAF, or UAF
  • Familiarity with modern software development technologies
  • Self-starter and critical thinker with the ability to brief senior leadership

    • Desired Qualifications :

  • Software or DevSecOps background with the ability to read source code
  • Algorithm development experience
  • Agile methodology experience
  • Use case, epic, feature, and user story development experience
