Housekeeping and Laundry Staff

JOB DESCRIPTION

Position Title : Housekeeping Staff

Reports to : House & Grounds Assistant Manager

Supervises : Not a supervisory position

Position Summary :

The Housekeeping Department takes care of the general appearance of Westwood Country Club and

performs both indoor and outdoor housekeeping duties, including. Works in assigned areas and takes

direction from the House and Grounds Assistant Manager / management team. Maintains groomed

appearance and wears approved uniform at all times while in the Club property. This is a non-exempt,

hourly position. Must be able to work weekends, evenings, and holidays.

Preferred Education and / or Experience :

High School Diploma or GED equivalent. Ability to communicate effectively, some English preferred.

Physical Demands :

Ability to work in heat and cold for extended periods of time and perform the following duties while

maintaining Club standards : standing, walking, kneeling / squatting, bending / stooping, pushing / pulling,

lifting, holding / carrying, twisting / turning, reaching, climbing stairs / ladders, and the ability to lift at least

50 pounds regularly. Must be able to stand and work in a hot, humid, and sometimes loud environment.

Work Environment :

Tasks are performed with exposure to diverse environmental and safety conditions, such as various

cleaning chemicals, wood and metal polishes, fumes, dust, and noise. The position will require the use of

equipment that will present noise levels and safety concerns in the workplace which may be excessive

and will require the use of ear plugs or other personal protective equipment (PPE’s) from time to time.

Exposure to daily cleaning materials. Must be able to follow instructions regarding the use of chemicals

and supplies.
