Job description

Job Summary :

Seeking a Data Engineer with excellent data base and analytical skills to join our

  • Consumer East Customer Lifecycle Optimization (CLO) team. The position will be responsible for supporting the data needs of all the functional areas within the CLO team. The role will work with a wide range of reporting levels and other departments. The candidate must possess strong understanding of data transformation pipelines and the impacts of data on downstream process(s). The nature of the work leads to an environment of shifting priorities and requires the candidate to be able to adapt to change. This position requires continual learning and skills development as well as a strong problem-solving base. The position will report to the Director, Customer Lifecycle Optimization.

Essential Duties / Responsibilities :

  • Ability to work within multiple ERPs both on-prem and cloud-based.
  • Collaborate with the IT / DBA team(s) to create data pipelines for the CLO team.
  • Ensure data pipelines are scalable, efficient, and contain valid data (both content and schema).
  • Maintain reliability and troubleshoot any issues that arise to ensure valid data is flowing to models and reports.
  • Function as a subject matter expert on the interactions and aggregation of business data from multiple sources.
  • Other related duties as required.
  • Minimum Requirements :

  • A minimum of a bachelor's degree is required in either a Business Intelligence (or related) or STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) field.
  • 3+ years of professional experience working with structures queries language(s) as well as deep understanding of data structures.
  • Experience working with large data sets.
  • Possess strong communication skills.
  • Preferred Qualifications :

  • Experience working in a cloud computing environment : Azure, GCP, AWS, etc.
  • Experience using high level languages : R, Python, Scala, SAS, etc.
  • Energy-industry knowledge / experience is a plus.
  • Basic understanding of data analytics (modeling, report building, etc.) to better appreciate the larger process impacts.

  • Must be able to collaborate efficiently and effectively with individuals and teams distributed across multiple locales.
  • Ability to manage heavy workload and shifting priorities.
  • Self-starter with an inquisitive mindset and an interest in understanding the 'why' of actions.
