Job Summary :
Plans, organizes, and controls the flow of production hardware to support upper-level demands and customer order requirements. Establishes, monitors, and controls product line MRP schedules that effectively support both customer demands and internal requirements. Plans to meet customer "need" early requirements if achievable after detailed investigation.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities :
- Establish, monitor, and control product line MPS and MRP schedules supporting customer demands and internal requirements, including early planning for customer needs.
- Respond promptly to customer inquiries regarding lead times, order status, cancellations, etc.
- Notify Customer Service of any shipment delays and attempt to renegotiate new shipment dates.
- Generate and respond to MRP exception reports to ensure proper shop floor and procurement scheduling.
- Coordinate efforts to meet start and completion dates for components, sub-assemblies, and top assemblies.
- Alert supervision to capacity or material constraints affecting delivery schedules.
- Process timely release of shop orders aligned with demand and inventory objectives.
- Validate shop order data for accuracy before submission.
- Review and adjust MRP fixed lead times as necessary.
- Coordinate system data corrections affecting scheduling and load planning.
- Manage activities related to part drawing releases and revisions.
- Monitor shelf life items and support production with usable products.
- Comply with operating practices and participate in meetings and initiatives.
- Support company objectives such as Perfect Delivery, Quality, 6S, Six Sigma, and Lean Manufacturing.
Education and Experience :
2-year college degree (or in progress) preferred.2-4 years related experience in Production Control, Planning, or Inventory Control; minimum 5 years on shop floor as a PC / material planner / scheduler.1-2 years in a manufacturing environment.1-2 years experience with ERP / MRP systems (preferably BPCS or similar).Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities :
Strong analytical and decision-making skills.Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.Experience with computerized systems and Microsoft applications.Ability to read engineering drawings or blueprints.Knowledge of manufacturing processes and controls.Proficiency in MS Excel.Excellent communication skills.Supervisory Responsibilities :
