Assistant Superintendent - Ground-Up Residential
Location : New York City
Compensation : $100,000-$140,000
Work Authorization : US Citizen or Green Card required
A leading General Contractor and Construction Management firm in New York City is seeking an ambitious Assistant Superintendent to join their team. This is a hands-on opportunity to work on ground-up residential projects and gain direct field leadership experience while collaborating with some of the best professionals in the industry.
About the Role
As an Assistant Superintendent, you'll be on-site daily, supporting the Superintendent in managing all aspects of field operations. You'll help coordinate trades, monitor quality and safety, and ensure projects stay on track. This role is ideal for someone who wants to grow into a Superintendent position while learning how to run complex NYC residential jobs from the ground up.
Responsibilities
- Support the Superintendent in managing day-to-day field operations for ground-up residential projects
- Coordinate subcontractors, vendors, and site logistics to ensure efficient and safe job site activity
- Monitor work for quality, safety, and compliance with project specifications and codes
- Assist in maintaining and updating project schedules, daily reports, and site documentation
- Participate in site inspections, resolve field issues, and help drive progress to meet milestones
- Enforce safety protocols in line with OSHA, DOB, and company standards
- Assist with punch list completion and final project turnover
- Build strong relationships with subcontractors, owners, and project stakeholders
Qualifications
3-4 years of ground-up residential construction experience as an Assistant Superintendent or Field EngineerBachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or related field preferred (Master's degree a plus)Hands-on knowledge of construction procedures, building codes, scheduling, and safety practicesStrong organizational and communication skills with the ability to lead and collaborate effectivelyNY / NJ project experience requiredBenefits
