Overview
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Telematics Test Engineer to join our automotive software validation team. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in testing telematics, connected vehicle, or infotainment systems within the automotive domain. This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to advanced vehicle connectivity and ensure the highest standards of system performance and reliability.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement comprehensive test plans, test cases, and scripts for telematics systems, covering functional, integration, regression, and performance testing.
- Conduct hands-on testing of embedded systems using simulation tools, Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) setups, and real-vehicle environments.
- Identify, document, and track defects, collaborating with cross-functional teams (hardware, software, and mechanical engineers) to resolve issues.
- Analyze test results, identify root causes, and provide clear, data-driven defect documentation.
- Collaborate with software developers, system engineers, and network specialists to validate end-to-end communication across vehicle networks (CAN, LIN, Ethernet, FlexRay).
- Prepare technical reports and present findings to cross-functional teams.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or related field.3+ years of experience in testing embedded systems, preferably in automotive telematics, GPS, or connected vehicle technologies.Demonstrated experience working with automotive communication protocols such as CAN, LIN, or similar.Proficient in using tools such as Vector CANoe, CANalyzer, or comparable test environments.Knowledge of telematics architecture, GPS, mobile communications (LTE, 5G), and embedded systems testing principles.Strong understanding of software development lifecycles and quality assurance processes.Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.Preferred Qualifications
Fluent in German (both written and spoken).Experience with automotive networks such as CAN, LIN, Ethernet, or similar protocols.Familiarity with tools like CANoe, Vector tools, or similar for network simulation and analysis.Experience working with OEM validation processes or test automation frameworks.Prior experience in agile methodologies or working with distributed global teams.Special Notes
