Senior Electrical Engineer

Overview

IPS is a global leader in providing solutions for consulting, architecture, engineering, project controls, procurement, construction management, commissioning, and CQV of technically complex facilities, primarily in the life sciences industry. We are looking for a talented Senior Electrical Engineer to join our dedicated team at our headquarters in Germantown, Maryland

Responsibilities

• Assess project requirements, break a project into tasks, work with a Project Manager to determine the scope of work, and write the scope of work for electrical designs.
• Assign and review the work of the project design team and check the progress of work, alerting the Project Manager to changes in scope or additional services.
• Prepare engineering studies and schematic designs for new systems and analyze the operation of existing systems; work with code officials and other design professionals when an interpretation or exception to building codes is required.
• Coordinate all aspects of project document completion within the company and externally with clients and other design professionals, and prepare or review construction budgets based on experience and scope of the project.
• Use computer-assisted engineering and design software and equipment to prepare engineering and design documents.
• Research design options and document findings for Project Designer / Engineer, while assuring that drawings and designs are per company production and design standards.
