Ignite Connections Through Communication in the Heart of Ohio - Join Us as a Speech Language Pathologist

Overview

Imagine a career that gives a voice to purpose - literally. As a Speech Language Pathologist in one of Ohio's dynamic communities, your role extends far beyond treating communication and swallowing disorders. It's about unlocking potential, rebuilding confidence, and fostering human connection - guiding toddlers as they articulate their first words and assisting seniors in regaining their independence.

This position presents a one-of-a-kind opportunity to work with diverse age groups in a setting that harmoniously merges outpatient therapy with periodic inpatient support. Whether your passion lies in pediatric language enhancement, adult neurogenic communication disorders, or rehabilitative efforts for the elderly, you will discover both fulfillment and flexibility in your work here.

Job Responsibilities

  • Conduct evaluations for pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients using a combination of standardized assessments and observational methods.
  • Craft individualized treatment plans addressing both short-term goals and long-term communication, cognitive, or swallowing challenges.
  • Deliver personalized speech therapy interventions focused on communication, language, fluency, voice, and swallowing.
  • Collaborate with physical therapists, occupational therapists, nurses, physicians, caregivers, and families to develop cohesive strategies for comprehensive care.
  • Provide education for patients and families to ensure progress continues outside of clinical sessions.
  • Assist with occasional inpatient evaluations and interventions for speech therapy, facilitating seamless care throughout the treatment process.
  • Maintain timely and accurate documentation in alignment with state, federal, and organizational guidelines.
  • Stay abreast of advancements in the field through ongoing education and peer interaction.

Qualifications

  • Master's Degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
  • Completion of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if not yet ASHA-certified.
  • Certifications

  • Active state licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist .
  • Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA is preferred.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification must be obtained within 30 days of starting employment.
  • Skill Set

  • Expertise in evidence-based treatment methods applicable to all age ranges, with a thorough grasp of developmental and acquired speech, language, and swallowing disorders.
  • Exceptional interpersonal communication skills with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams.
  • Capacity to adapt therapeutic techniques to accommodate diverse cultural and linguistic needs.
  • Sharp clinical judgment and problem-solving skills.
  • Familiarity with electronic medical records and documentation expectations.
  • Benefits

  • Competitive salary commensurate with experience.
  • Flexible work scheduling to promote work-life harmony and varied caseloads.
  • Specialization opportunities in pediatrics, adult neuro rehabilitation, or geriatrics.
  • Generous paid time off (PTO) and holiday compensation.
  • Options for medical, dental, vision, and life insurance.
  • Support for continuing education and professional development.
  • A collaborative environment focused on providing exceptional care and lifelong learning.
  • A Career That Empowers You and Others

In this position, you won't just be delivering speech therapy-you will become an integral part of a mission dedicated to restoring voices, enhancing communication, and facilitating moments of joy through the essential acts of understanding and expression.

You'll be among colleagues who value each other like family in a culture that prioritizes collaboration over competition. Every patient has a story to tell; we will count on you to help shape it beautifully.

Why You Will Adore Life and Work Here

There's a vibrant cadence to life in this enchanting part of Ohio, where the heartbeat of innovation resonates alongside the warm embrace of Midwest charm. With beautiful parks, exciting cultural events, and access to the scenic Scioto River, this area offers an ideal backdrop for those seeking a harmonious balance of nature, culture, and professional opportunity.

Families often gather in lush parks to enjoy live performances and weekend picnics, while outdoor enthusiasts hike the trails or explore the scenic river on kayaks. Culinary lovers will delight in an eclectic food scene, filled with everything from food truck tacos to award-winning eateries presenting innovative interpretations of classic dishes.

The area's artistic spirit pulses through every mural, echoed in the sounds of local music, and brought to life through community festivals that unite people from all walks of life. Additionally, for professionals in the healthcare field, the region's lack of a state income tax, combined with reasonable living costs and a flourishing healthcare network, transforms this area into a landscape where careers flourish.

Whether you're an emerging professional or a seasoned expert eager for fresh challenges, you will discover ample opportunities for personal and professional growth in this vibrant community.

    The Ideal Candidate

We seek a Speech Language Pathologist who is propelled not just by outcomes but by compassion. Someone who envisions a world where a quiet child flourishes in self-expression, or who hears the determination in the speech of a stroke survivor.

You might be a pediatric specialist looking to incorporate adult services into your practice, or a clinician with a focus on neurology seeking to enrich your skills in early intervention.

Whatever your calling, if you are eager to serve with heart and navigate this rewarding journey with expertise, we are excited to welcome you.

Let's Craft a Shared Future in Communication

If you understand that speech is more than just sound, and therapy transcends task completion - if you believe in building trust before tackling challenges and savoring laughter as much as language - then this could be the pivotal chapter in your career.

Join us in a nurturing community that values communication, connection, and the courage to create anew. Apply today to bring your unique voice to our team and empower others to discover theirs.
