Job Summary

Under the general direction of the Information Technology Manager I (ITM I), the IT Specialist II (Senior Data Analyst) will be responsible for researching, defining, developing, and implementing data quality standards and governance for the department's data ecosystem. The incumbent must demonstrate an in-depth understanding of data maturity models, analysis tools and platforms, and possess innovative problem-solving solutions to complex data challenges. The ITS II must have strong communication skills and be adept at distilling complex analytical concepts to program leads and management. Strong oral and written communication skills are essential. The position will perform complex data analysis independently or with cross-functional teams to meet the needs of the organization.

Working Conditions

Hybrid Telework : This position is eligible for a hybrid work schedule. Additional in office days may be required based on the business need.

Conflict of Interest (COI) : This position is designated under the Conflict of Interest Code and is required to complete Form 700 within 30 days of appointment. Failure to comply with the Conflict of Interest Code requirements may void the appointment.

Information Technology Specialist II (LEAP) EX-2004

Training and Development (T&D) assignments are temporary assignments to provide an employee training and experience to move to a different occupational field. A T&D assignment is a formal agreement between the employee, the current supervisor, and the new supervisor. The duration of agreements can vary in length but shall not exceed twenty-four (24) months. The duration may also be the length of experience needed to meet the minimum qualifications. Please note they are only available to current California State employees who have permanent status.
