Data Engineering Manager

About the Job

As an Engineering Manager, you will join and lead one of the teams in the data infrastructure unit. This unit is responsible for the collection of the data through multiple streaming pipelines, its transformation, aggregation, sessionization and storage in our analytics database. We are in the process of merging the technical stack of three different companies and one of the biggest challenges will be to help teams with different cultural backgrounds and different timezones to work together in an optimal way. Our tech environment includes Typescript, Scala, Go, Kafka, and AWS / Azure — with a strong focus on performance, reliability, cost and long-term scalability.

What You Will Do

• Lead a team of 5 backend engineers (including a Staff Engineer), fostering a collaborative, high-performing, and pragmatic engineering culture (team rituals, career development, recruitment, etc.).
• Use your technical background to support architectural decisions, review technical approaches, and help the team make thoughtful, scalable trade-offs.
• Drive the successful and timely delivery of high-impact, large-scale backend / data projects at the core of our platform.
• Help the team navigate technical, cultural and organizational challenges across distributed timezones (EU, US, AUS), while maintaining focus and autonomy.
