Position Overview :

The Tax Credit Leasing Agent is responsible for leasing residential units in a property that participates in affordable housing programs, specifically the Low-Income Housing Tax Credit (LIHTC) program. This role involves conducting property tours, processing applications, screening tenants, and ensuring compliance with tax credit and fair housing regulations. The Tax Credit Leasing Agent will work to maintain a high occupancy rate, assist prospective tenants, and ensure that the property meets all program requirements.

Key Responsibilities :

Leasing and Tenant Relations :

Market and promote available units to attract qualified tenants for the property.

Tax Credit Program Compliance :

Screen and qualify tenants based on the eligibility requirements of the LIHTC program, ensuring they meet the program’s income and household size limits.

Lease Preparation and Documentation :

Prepare and execute lease agreements, ensuring all required lease terms, program-specific guidelines, and legal information are included.

Marketing and Outreach :

Assist with property marketing efforts, including online listings, social media, print advertising, and outreach programs to attract eligible tenants.

Property Inspections and Move-Ins :

Assist in conducting property inspections for new tenants, move-ins, and move-outs.

Qualifications :

Education / Experience :

High School Diploma or equivalent

Skills and Abilities :

Strong customer service and interpersonal communication skills.
