IMEG is growing, and we'd love to have you join our team!We are currently seeking a Plumbing Project Designer 1 in our Las Vegas, NV office .

Scope

The Plumbing Project Designer 1 will lead design efforts as a project manager or lead designer for low to moderate complexity projects and collaborate with senior staff for the delivery oflarger and high complexity projects. They will be responsible for working closely with a team ofengineers and consultants to provide engineering solutions and advice to clients to ensurepositive outcomes. Primary responsibilities will include engineering analysis, design and

implementation oversight of plumbing systems for the vertical building industry. This positionwill be expected to work within the project's monetary budget, train, mentor, and collaboratewith cross-functional teams to meet project goals and client expectations.

Principal Responsibilities

  • Lead design efforts for the analysis of plumbing, and fire protection systems. Utilizeengineering software and tools to create detailed designs, specifications, andcalculations according to code requirements and IMEG standards
  • Interact with clients to understand their needs, gather project requirements, andcommunicate technical information effectively; Build and maintain client relationshipsthrough professional communication
  • Work as part of a project team to support the execution of consulting projects. Leadefforts in project planning, budgeting, and scheduling tasks to meet project deadlinesand objectives. Document design decisions and instructions from clients whilemonitoring project design progress as related to percent complete and fee expended
  • Analyze engineering problems and propose innovative solutions. Collaborate withsenior engineers and consultants to develop practical and efficient solutions
  • Provide in-process design reviews of plumbing and fire protection system design,calculations, and specifications; Implement IMEG quality control processes to ensurethat engineering designs and solutions meet IMEG quality standards, industry standardsand client requirements
  • Stay up to date with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices inplumbing engineering. Contribute to research, development, and innovation effortswithin IMEG
  • Prioritize safety in all aspects of engineering work. Identify and mitigate potential safetyrisks associated with plumbing systems
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including other engineers, architects, andproject managers, to deliver integrated solutions that meet project goals
  • Identify potential project problems and seek advice from the Project Manager
  • Oversee projects through bidding and construction administration phase

Required Skills / Abilities

  • Functional expertise in design techniques, tools, and concepts involved in the
  • production of technical plans and specifications

  • Strong technical and analytical skills including proficiency of principles in
  • thermodynamics, heat transfer and fluid mechanics as they relate to plumbing and fireprotection design for buildings

  • Ability to train and mentor less experienced staff
  • Advanced proficiency of industry standard engineering software and tools
  • Mastery of code calculations for domestic water, waste, and vent systems
  • Advanced knowledge of specialty plumbing systems (medical gas, laboratory gas, highrise, rainwater / grey water systems) as applicable based on team market focus
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to clearly communicate in bothoral and written communication to individuals or groups
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
  • Attention to detail and problem-solving skills
  • Proficiency in the use of Building Information Modeling (BIM) software
  • Proficient with MS Office Suite including but not limited to Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Ability to travel up to 10% with occasional overnight stays
  • Education and Experience

  • Bachelor of Science (BS) Degree in Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent required
  • Engineering In Training (EIT) Certification preferred
  • ASPE Certified Plumbing Design preferred
  • Associates degree, or certificate, in Building Information Modeling (BIM) or Engineeringpreferred
  • 3 years of experience minimum required, 4 preferred, in the building design consultingindustry
  • OR

  • Associates degree, or certificate, in Building Information Modeling (BIM) or Engineeringpreferred
  • ASPE Certified Plumbing Design preferred
  • 7 years of experience minimum required, 8 preferred, in the building design consultingor construction industry
  • This position is not eligible for sponsorship.

    Physical Requirements

  • Regularly required to sit, walk, stand, talk, see, hear, and lift objects up to 25 pounds
  • Occasionally required to drive, kneel, stoop, crouch, crawl, reach with hands or arms,and grasp or pull
  • Will have limited exposure to outside weather conditions and loud noise
  • Salary Range is $83,000 - $112,000 . Minimums and maximums may vary based on location. Individual pay will be based on several factors including experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant. Other rewards may include annual bonuses and stock ownership options. In addition, IMEG Corp. provides a variety of benefits to employees, including health insurance coverage, an employee wellness program, life and disability insurance, a retirement savings plan, paid holidays, and paid time off (PTO).
